While New York City isn’t in the path of today’s total solar eclipse, we’re still expecting quite the spectacle.
Nearly 72 percent of the sun will be covered by the moon during a partial solar eclipse.
“New Yorkers should be really excited,” said Dr. Jackie Faherty, an astrophysicist at the American Museum of Natural History. “The total solar eclipse is getting all the attention, but partial solar eclipses are an experience all on their own.”
